Terms of Service
Effective October 15, 2026
These terms are the rules for playing games by Pengwin Studios, including Type 20 ("we", "us"). By playing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the game. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy are part of these terms.
1. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to use Type 20. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to buy a subscription, and they're responsible for the purchase.
2. Your account
- You can play the Daily Challenge without an account. Online modes (Sprint, Elimination and Party) and subscriptions need you to sign in with Google.
- Keep one account per person, and don't share or sell your account.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at support@pengwinstudios.com if you think someone else has used it.
- You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Your data.
3. Free play and Type 20 Plus
The Daily Challenge is free. Some modes have a limited number of free games per day. Type 20 Plus is a paid subscription that unlocks more, as described in the game when you subscribe. We may change which features are free or included in Type 20 Plus, but we won't remove something you've already paid for during the period you've paid for.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, and your payment method is charged unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Cancelling: you can cancel anytime from your Profile. You keep Type 20 Plus until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Prices: the price is shown before you pay and may include sales tax or VAT where required. If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
- Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
5. Playing fair
To keep the game fun for everyone, you agree not to:
- cheat, including using bots, scripts, or tools that type or find answers for you;
- exploit bugs, or tamper with the game, its servers or other players' accounts;
- use offensive, hateful or misleading display names, or pretend to be someone else;
- harass, threaten or abuse other players;
- create extra accounts to get around free-play limits or a ban;
- copy, resell or run a copy of the game.
If you break these rules, we may change your display name, remove results, reset ranks, or suspend or delete your account.
6. What you submit
Your display name and the answers you type are yours. You give us permission to store and use them to run the game, show them to other players where the game does (for example in lobbies and results), and improve the game, such as adding real words that our lists were missing.
7. Our game
Type 20, including its design, code, word lists and name, belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may play it for your own enjoyment and share your results, but you may not copy it or build a copy of it.
8. Changes and availability
We're always improving Type 20, so features, modes and rules may change. We try to keep the game running smoothly, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and we may end the game in the future. If we end Type 20 Plus for good, we'll refund the unused part of any subscription period you've paid for.
9. Disclaimers
Type 20 is provided "as is". We don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that every correct answer will be accepted.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
11. Ending your use
You can stop playing and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. If we do that for a serious or repeated breach, we won't refund any remaining subscription time, except where the law requires it.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is important, we'll let you know in the game or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to play after that means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, except where the law of the country you live in gives you rights that can't be taken away.
